Boyd House

This is the home of Richard Boyd. It is
on Walnut Street, and is in the Mitchell College Historic District.

Meet Richard Boyd. He seems very happy sitting in his beautiful
kitchen.

A shot of the kitchen without Richard.

Let's go back out and enter the house. This is a view of the west
side of the front porch.

And a closer look.

This photo shows the east side of the front porch.

And a closer look. What a cozy place to sit and watch the cars go
by.

Upon entering the house, one sees this beautiful living room.
Richard has furnished his craftsman bungalow house with what
else? Mission Oak furniture! How appropriate is that!

This shot of the living room shows the authentic fireplace and mantel
as well as the lovely wallpaper Richard chose for this room.

Richard's den..Again he uses mission oak furniture, and how lovely it
is.

Another sitting room...The colors in this house are wonderful.

Another look at the same room.

This is the downstairs bathroom, which houses Richard's ferns in the
clawfoot tub.

The dining room is adjacent to the living room and kitchen. This
shot shows the beautiful wainscotting with another beautiful wallpaper
above. Again, the furniture is mission oak.

This photo shows the beautiful rug and a peek into the living room.

A closer look into the dining room, this time with a peek into the
kitchen.

This time, we look into the upstairs hall where we see more of
Richard's plants.

How wonderful is this? An upstairs sunroom with even more plants.

This is another shot of the hall with the stair rail.

What a beautiful bank of windows in this lovely bedroom. Again,
mission oak furniture is used.

Another shot of this bedroom, looking out into the hall.

This is another bedroom upstairs where we see the mission oak bed.

This is the upstairs bathroom. I love the way Richard uses plants
throughout his house.

This is a watercolor of the house done by Jane Marucci of Statesville,
NC

This painting won first place in the Mooresville Spring Artfest.
When Richard brought me these pictures, they came in an
album.
The picture below shows what he does when he is not working on his own
house or another house he has purchased. Sure looks like fun!

I would like to thank Richard Boyd for sharing these views of his home
with us.
