Williford House

This is the home of Melinda and
Dan Williford. It is on West End Avenue, and is in the Mitchell
College Historic District.
This beautiful house, commonly
known as the Hoffman house was built in 1917. Melinda and Dan
Williford bought it from Dr. and Mrs. Duncan McCall. Melinda kept
most of the colors and window treatments that were done by the
McCalls. I think you will agree that Melinda and Mrs. McCall
together created a lovely home.

Coming up to the entrance of the
house, one sees this lovely porch with a striking front door.

This shot of the front was taken before the leaves turned to a
brilliant orange and yellow.

On the porch we get a view of the comfortable and beautiful sitting
area.

The porch also provides a cozy spot for informal dining.

This is a shot of the living room. The walls make a beautiful
statement.

This photo of the living room shows the pocket doors going into the
dining room.

Another shot of the living room showing the fireplace and mantle.

This is the formal dining room. The wallpaper here compliments
the burgundy walls of the adjoining living room.

And another view of the dining room. Just look at the wonderful
window treatments.

Here we have a look at the family room. The earth color on the
walls is lovely with the white trim.

This is a letter found in the attic, addressed to Mr. J. H. Hoffman,
dated May 1, 1918. It was framed and matted by Mrs. McCall and
left with the house.

This window seat is located on the landing of the stairway.

The butler's pantry is located between the kitchen and dining room.

This is a shot of the kitchen with its cheerful wallpaper.

This is a shot of an historic transom over one of the doors.

This is a photo of the ceiling in one of the upstairs bathrooms.

This wonderful fireplace is in one of the bedrooms upstairs.

This is a view of the back of the house.

As we leave this beautiful house, we catch a photo of the bosses of
this home - two poodles named Reagan and Reilly.
I would like to express my gratitude to Melinda and Dan Williford for
sharing these photos of their home.
